Job Summary
Creating a strategy and development plan for the unit, defining the organizational structure, and building the team.
Ensuring the enterprise's profit in accordance with the Company Strategy.
Product of the position
Formed team of professional, well-established operational processes allowing to achieve goals in accordance with the development strategy.
Responsibilities
Strategic Planning: Developing strategies for the development and growth of the logistics business in line with the company’s objectives and market requirements.
Attracting new clients, concluding contracts, expanding the geography of service, and increasing transportation volumes.
Project management of both existing and new products: Market analysis, customer acquisition, partner search, building operational process, planning and execution control.
Searching for new opportunities: Initiating new product introductions, searching for opportunities and business directions in the PRC.
HR Management: Formation and development of a team of professionals, ensuring their motivation, training and development.
Operations Management: Organization and control of all logistics operations, including customer relations, carrier search, contracting, cargo delivery control, PRC customs procedures.
Financial Management: Managing the company's financial resources, including budgeting, financial analysis, cost management and financial sustainability.
Submission of regular reports on the company's activities to the company's head office (once a month).
Customer Relations: Establishment and maintenance of long-term relationships with the company's clients and partners, ensuring a high level of service and satisfaction of client needs and retention of key clients.
Control of fulfillment of contractual obligations
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all applicable logistics and transportation regulations, rules and standards, including customs and transportation regulations within the PRC region.
Innovation and Optimization: Introducing new technologies, methods and processes to optimize operations and improve the efficiency of logistics processes.
Risk Management: Analyzing and managing risks associated with the enterprise's activities, developing strategies to mitigate and prevent them, ensuring the stability and reliability of operations.
Acting as a senior point of contact between the clients, key suppliers, management, transportation team and dispatch team, especially for top tier clients.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree or above in logistics, operations management, economics or business administration.
6-10 years of professional work experience is preferred. 3-4 years of experience in China is desirable, in addition, clear demonstration of knowledge required to operate in the China market. 4-5 years of supply chain related customer management experience.
Experience with international trade operations and international transportation.
Experience in project management.
Experience building a department enterprise from the ground up.
Experience negotiating with suppliers, carriers and other stakeholders in the logistics process.
Having connections in national logistics companies (China Railway), communities and business environment in the destination (preferred).
In-depth understanding of the logistics market in China, its characteristics, trends and competitive landscape.
Fundamentals of accounting in the PRC, document management by direction.
Knowledge of major logistics management technologies and systems such as warehouse management systems (WMS), transportation management systems (TMS), and inventory management systems (ERP).
Understanding of the key principles of Incoterms and international trade.
Ability to effectively manage projects, plan resources, prioritize and achieve goals.
Business thinking
Ability to analyze data, identify trends and issues, and develop and implement solutions to address them.
Excellent communication skills in Chinese and English, ability to interact effectively with customers, partners and staff.
Ability to develop and implement logistics strategies that optimize costs and improve efficiency.
Skills in CRM systems, Power BI.
