Job Summary

Dynamic and experienced Business Development Manager to lead our expansion efforts in the China region. Will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, establishing strategic partnerships, and driving revenue growth. This role requires a deep understanding of the Chinese market, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to build and maintain long-term relationships with key stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy for the China region, aligned with the companys overall growth objectives.

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through market research, networking, and partnerships.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders to drive business growth.

  • Lead negotiations and close deals with potential clients, ensuring favourable terms for the company.

  • Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, sales, and product development, to tailor offerings to the Chinese market.

  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to adjust strategies accordingly.

  • Prepare and present regular reports on business development activities, achievements, and market insights to senior management.

  • Ensure compliance with local regulations and company policies in all business activities.

  • Facilitate logistic and supplies for China customers by co-ordinating with internal logistic and support functions.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelors/masters degree in microbiology/biotechnology. A MBA or Degree in International relations is a plus.

  • Experience: Minimum of 4-7 years of experience in sales, or a related role, with a proven track record of success in the China region.

  • Market Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the Chinese market, including cultural, economic, and regulatory factors.

  • Language Skills: Fluency in Mandarin and English is required. Proficiency in other Chinese dialects is a plus.

  • Relationship Building: Strong network and ability to establish and maintain relationships with key decision-makers in the region.

  • Negotiation Skills: Exceptional negotiation and deal-closing skills, with a focus on achieving win-win outcomes.

  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze market data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and persuasively.

  • Cultural Sensitivity: Awareness of and respect for Chinese cultural nuances and business practices.

  • Travel: Willingness to travel within China and internationally as needed.

  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving abilities with a proactive and strategic mindset.

  • Industry Expertise: Extensive knowledge and experience in diagnostics or biomedicine.

  • Market Knowledge: Proven success in the Chinese market, with familiarity in local cultural and business practices.

  • Existing Relationships: Established connections and a ready network with our clients target customers, which includes key players in the biomedical and diagnostics sectors in China.

  • Language Proficiency: Essential fluency in Mandarin and strong English communication skills.
