Job Summary
An Account Manager would join the organization with a solid background as a senior product developer and would develop their product skill set to incorporate business acumen, sales growth and team management. An account manager can work independently with clients and factories and confidently make decisions and presentations. They have a great understanding of each customer's needs in terms of pricing, strategy, quality, speed-to-delivery, and sustainability goals, and they provide very professional services to the customer and allow them to make smart business decisions. They can successfully lead a team to provide guidance and coach to deliver high-quality customer performance.
Responsibilities
Forecasting
Partner with the sales manager to maintain the rolling 18-month capacity and monthly finance forecast.
Sales Revenue Growth
Maintain close customer relationships and regularly travel to visit customers with the sales manager.
Regularly reviews the brands holistically to identify potential areas for sales needs and develop a pith strategy with the Sales Manager.
Regularly analyzes current orders and conducts market research to share and present business development trends/concept inspirations to customers with the Sales Manager.
Manages customer expectations and problem-solving.
Account Management Functions
Fully understand the payment and shipment terms and facilitate conversations regarding any updates.
Communicates the account setup and update to Data Admin, Finance, and Logistics.
Creates reports on each customer for the Executive team to provide updates to the Board, including analysis of their performance to ensure they remain viable for order volume, SKU scope, number of styles, proto rounds, additional sample requirements, overall margin profile and general update on the relationship, key organization changes.
Set up an annual calendar for ODM development presentations to reinforce customer loyalty and stickiness.
Development Management
Work closely with the customers to build out rolling 12 months of development and production calendars in an agreed standard format and monitor the team to execute the calendar correctly.
Weekly review of the Development WIP with the team to ensure everything runs smoothly.
Step in to provide necessary assistance to the team for better sample allocation/delivery with the sample room manager or subcontract factor management team if there are any problems.
Regularly review the risk assessment and production evaluation processes to ensure the team conducts appropriately and runs smoothly.
Review the final costing file and work with the Sales Manager to get the costing submitted and signed off. Fully understand garment costings with the ability to pitch alternative materials and construction techniques to achieve customer cost targets.
Production Management
Monitor the team to fulfil the customer production order.
Check & review the weekly WIP or Production Plan and provide necessary guidance to the team if there are any problems during the production process.
Review the loading and demand plan to understand capacity and work closely with customers to take new orders proactively.
Seamlessly cover for any PD team members during periods of absence and positively resolve any QC issues that may arise internally and/or from the customer side.
Monthly review of the OTD performance and work with the factory for CAP, if any.
Team Management
Coach and train direct PD reports on how to pitch new categories
Involvement in Handovers and sourcing
Help troubleshoot issues that may arise in development or production
Oversee WIPs and PSRs to ensure teams are hitting established critical paths
Delegate day-to-day communications and developments accordingly to the team
Help manage workload and set priorities
Create new SOPs if necessary
Effectively work on direct reports' career development to ensure teams continue to learn, grow, and thrive:
Training teams on costings, critical path, sourcing, forecasting, customer communication and general follow-through
Share the accountability of hitting sales budgets as established by leadership
Encourage the team to participate in sustainable initiatives in line with the company's ESG goals in their day-to-day operations and when liaising with customers.
